Fulham
Football
Club was
formed and were elected
into the
football league on the
12th
of
December 1898.
Although
throughout
the
years, Fulham has been home
to more
than a
few house hold names, it was
usually
at the end of the players
career
and as
such Fulham FC spent most of
their
time in the lower divisions of
the
football
league.
It wasn’t until
the
arrival
of multi-millionaire Harrods
owner
Mohammed Al Fayed, who
had big
plans
for the club that Fulham
began to
make
their name as a top flight
football
team,
When Kevin Keegan took over
as
Fulham’s manager
in 1998 it was a sure
sign of
Al Fayed's intentions with the
club, as
Keegan had previously taken
Newcastle
United from the Second
Division
to within an whisker of the
championship.
However, despite the
higher
profile that Keegan brought,
with
him, it
wasn’t until Jean Tigana took
control
of the team that Fulham
finally
reached
the promised land of the
Premier
League, and whilst they
did
not
quite take the top division by
storm
as their
eccentric owner had
predicted,
Fulham
are slowly but surely
establishing
themselves as a
Premiership
club.
With Roy
Hodgson now
at the
helm, and quality players in
their
squad, can Fulham turn things
around
and perhaps even push for a
European spot?
Only time will tell...
