Internazionale,
commonly
referred to as Inter or
Inter Milan, are an Italian
football club based in
Milan. They were founded
in the year 1908. Inter are
the only football club
in Italian football to have
spent their entire existence in
the top flight.
Inter Milan play in black
and blue striped shirts with
white shorts. The
club have sixteen Serie A
titles to their name; only their
rivals Juventus
and A.C. Milan have won
more. Including the Italian
Super Cup and the Coppa
Italia, Inter have a total of
twenty-five trophies won in
Italian football
competitions.
Outside of Italy, the
team
have also had success in
European and World
tournaments; they won the
European Cup (now the
Champions League) in two
successive finals during
1963–64 and 1964–65
seasons. Inter have also won
the UEFA Cup on three
occasions and the World
Club Championship twice.
Additionally, Inter Milan
was one of founder
members of the G-14, a
group that represented
eighteen of
the biggest and most
prestigious football clubs in
the on the planet, before
being
disbanded.
Internazionale play
their
home fixtures at the Stadio
Giuseppe Meazza, which is
also known as San Siro.
The stadium, which they
share with fierce rivals AC
Milan, is the biggest
ground in Italian football,
and has a total capacity of
82,955.
