Milan Football
Club
AC Milan is an
professional
football club based in Milan,
Italy. The club was founded
way back in the
year 1899 and has since
spent the majority of its
history in the top division
of Italian
football.
In
European and World
competitions AC Milan have
won a grand total of eighteen
officially
recognised international
titles, which is more than any
other football club
on the planet. AC Milan
have also won what is today
known as the UEFA
Champions League on
seven separate occasions;
only Real Madrid have won it
more times with nine wins
to their name.
As far as Italian
football competitions are
concerned, AC Milan is the
second most successful
club with seventeen league
titles; only Juventus have
won more with a whopping
twenty-seven. AC Milan have
won the
Intercontinental Cup/Club
World Cup four times, more
than any other football
club on the
planet.
Other important
titles
which AC Milan have won
includes the European Super
Cup which has been won
five times, and the Cup
Winners' Cup which has been
lifted twice. However AC
Milan have yet to reach the
UEFA Cup final. AC Milan was
also one of the
G-14’s founder
members.
Their home games
are played
at San Siro, also known as
the Stadio Giuseppe
Meazza. The stadium,
which is shared with bitter
rivals Internazionale or Inter
Milan, is the
largest stadia in Italian
football, with total capacity of
82,955.
